When a collision is unavoidable, Nissan’s Zone Body construction helps absorb the impact while the advanced seat belt and air bag systems help protect everyone on board. Nissan safety engineers have dedicated thousands of hours to evaluating hundreds of child restraints in Nissans. The result: an industry first, The Snug Kids Child Safety Seat Fit Guide. Nissan Pushing Carwings to Provide More Information to LEAF Owners

The Japanese auto manufacturer teamed up with the makers of Carwings when the first U.S. mass produced electric vehicles were on sale to provide LEAF owners with a service tool that familiarizes customers with their new vehicles, as well as establish a charging routine. Although Carwings was a great application for new buyers, almost four years later, Nissan is hoping they can encourage Carwings to provide the customers with more information regarding their vehicle. Nissan believes that providing information in regards to the electric vehicle’s battery health is important – the idea first came after Nissan received customer complaints from LEAF owners who lived in hot-weather locations, like Arizona. Customers stated that their batteries were losing capacity at a much faster rate than originally advertised. In an effort to provide customers with valuable information, Nissan is hoping Carwings will step up and rework their current platform. Nissan Surprises with what is Under the Hood of 2015 370Z Nismo

Car enthusiasts around the world gathered to celebrate the infamous ZDAYZ event this year where Nissan decided to showcase the 2015 370Z Nismo. As onlookers gazed in awe, the Nissan team was thrilled to have delivered the car that they think will change the automotive industry forever.  Aside from the obvious cosmetic enhancements that the refreshed model received, the vehicle is going down in automotive history as the first vehicle with availability of a seven-speed automatic transmission. For the most part everything under the hood will remain the same – the 3.7-liter V6 will continue to deliver 350 horsepower. The standard limited slip differential with a shorter final drive ratio should offer enhanced acceleration performance. If you would like to read the full article, please click on the link below:

The Nissan LEAF – Made in America

In past years there has been some controversy surrounding the Nissan LEAF which is assembled in Tennessee but has parts that are mainly made in Japan. The zero emission vehicles have become the best-selling electric vehicles in the U.S. market; but how did people really feel about driving a car that was built in America and 80% of its components came from Japan? Andrew Chiang, a LEAF enthusiast, spoke out about his concern with this very matter back in 2013. Nissan then promised to increase the 15% of contents that come from the U.S. for the next LEAF model. Although there was no exact number in regards to how much it would increase by, Nissan drivers were happy to know that their voices were bring heard. Brian Brockman, Senior Manager of Corporate Communications for Nissan revealed that the next LEAF model will be equipped with a higher percentage of American-made components and will be comparable to other US-built advanced vehicle technologies. Nissan Self-Driving Vehicles in Four Years

Self-driving vehicles are no longer only a Google thing – in fact, they are a lot closer to our time than once imagined. Renault-Nissan’s Carlos Ghosn, believes that these vehicles will be a reality as early as 2018. Although, Ghosn says that the problem is legislation, an amendment  to United Nations, earlier this year, might have changed things up; the amendment allows drivers to take their hands off the wheel of self-driving cars. Germany, Italy, and France pushed for this amendment to come into play in order for the high-end carmakers to get a start on the technology needed. Ghosn said, “The problem is not technology, its legislation, and the whole question of responsibility that goes with these cars moving around… and especially who is responsible once there is no longer anyone inside.” If you would like to read the full article, please click on the link below:
