Nissan Redesigns its Most Popular U.S. Vehicle

Nissan is doing everything possible to stay above its competition in the midsize sedan segment. In fact, Nissan’s best-selling U.S. vehicle, recently received one of the largest mid-cycle redesigns in Nissan’s history. The automaker upgraded the interior and exterior of the Altima – “everything from the A-pillar forward,” said Jose Munoz, Chairman of Nissan North America. The automaker didn’t stop there; reportedly, Nissan added the latest, most advanced, safety systems in the 2016 Altima model.

In a recent press release, Coast Nissan has learned that the Japanese automake, Nissan, is currently making tremendous multimedia deals across the nation. This new promotional strategy entails that Nissan purchase scholarships at over 100 and is being considered Nissan’s largest multimedia deals ever. The press release revealed that Nissan plans to spend between $100,000 and $400,000 per school. Coast Nissan is near a number of colleges and high schools and is excited to see if any local schools will be a part of Nissan’s latest campaign.

Nissan Appoints New Chief of Communications

Nissan Motor Co. recently appointed a new Chief of Communications Officer. Jonathan Adashek, joins the Nissan team coming from Microsoft; he replaces Jeff Kuhlman, who had to return to the United States for family reasons. Adashek worked with Microsoft prior to coming to Nissan. In addition to his experience with Microsoft, Adashek served as the Executive Vice President at Edelman, a public relations firm. In a recent Facebook post, Kuhlman, said: “ I will be returning to the U.S. and I am looking forward to the next adventure, which includes a new professional challenge.”

Nissan & Daimler Partnership a Discussion Topic in Frankfurt

At this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, Carlos Ghosn, the Chairman and CEO of Renault-Nissan Alliance, and Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Daimler, shared a stage and provided a room filled of attendees with an update on the Nissan-Daimler partnership which was recently established. During their presentation, Ghosn and Zetsche revealed what the future holds between the two and explained why it is important for them to focus on electric mobility. Coast Nissan in San Luis Obispo is excited about the latest partnership with Daimler and is excited to see what the two auto groups come up with in the future.

Nissan Redesigns Altima Model for 2016

Nissan 3 logo Altima to receive new design cues

Nissan recently announced the model redesign of the 2016 Altima. The latest model features the Japanese automaker’s latest design language and newest technology. The popular Nissan model has now borrowed a few design cues from the newest Murano and Maxima. Under the hood, the Nissan Altima also adopts a few upgrades and is considerably at the top of its overcrowded vehicle segment. This vehicle will also feature a new V-shaped front grille and headlights to match its evolving siblings. The 2016 model has not yet been released but as soon as Coast Nissan receives the first shipment, we will be sure to let you all know.

Nissan Team Very Successful at GT Championship

Nissan 4 GT Championship takes biggest win

Nissan’s Alex Buncombe, Katsumasa Chiyo and Wolfgang Reip had an overall great weekend at the Blancpain Endurance PRO Driver’s Championship. The team was able to swipe the GT4 European title and take the Blancpain Endurance PRO AM title this past weekend. Darren Cox, Global Head of Brand, Marketing & Sales recently said: “This championship is the culmination of many years of strong partnership between everyone at Nissan NISMO, GT Academy and RJN. We have all stuck together through some big successes and some disappointments and have just got stronger as a group over the years.” Coast Nissan is excited to be part of a manufacturing group that is putting its technology and vehicle systems to the test in Motorsports. Nissan’s Plan to Grow in Europe is a Huge Success

Nissan has grown tremendously in Europe this year. The Japanese automaker has become the No. 1 Japanese auto brand in the European market. In the first 8 months of this year, sales grew by 9% compared to last year. Nissan found that in order to stay ahead of the curve, they would need to localize their brand and production. Since they did that, they have found great success because they have been able to respond quickly on market opportunities. Nissan Gripz Steals the Spotlight in Frankfurt

Nissan was proud to take the covers off the highly anticipated Gripz model; prior to its unveiling, the automaker leaked a teaser image of the vehicle and created quite the buzz online. Since the unveiling, the Gripz has received a lot of positive feedback and has become one of the most talked about vehicles at the show. Nissan describes the Gripz as part car, part coupe, part hybrid, part rally car. Shiro Nakamura, Nissan’s Senior Vice President for design and Chief Creative Officer, revealed that the vehicle was inspired by the 240Z Safari rally car and can easily and quickly transform from a crossover into a performance car. The driver has the ability to switch driving modes at the touch of a button to transform from a daily driver to a sports car. Additionally, the Gripz can go from off-road model to Drift mode, which triggers the heart of the Gripz to give you the same feel as a rear-wheel drive sportscar. Coast Nissan will continue to keep an eye on this model and we will keep our fingers crossed that the Gripz goes into production soon.

Annual Japanese Classic Car Show to Showcase Classic Nissan Vehicles

At this year’s Japanese Classic Car Show, Nissan is planning to showcase a few classic vehicles that will surely knock your socks off! The event will take place at its usual location, Long Beach, California and will kick off on September 19th. This year Nissan is planning to showcase a collection of vehicles that will display Nissan’s historical timeline in the United States. This event is put on to honor Classic Japanese Cars; like the 1967 Datsun 411 and 1972 Datsun 510 which will be this year’s honorary vehicles. Additionally, the Japanese automaker announced that two very popular models will be showcased at the event: the 1975 Datsun Bluebird 2000GTX and the 1997 Nissan R390 GT1 racer. Pierre Loing, Vice President, Product Planning, Nissan North America, said: “The Japanese Classic Car Show is the biggest Japanese heritage event in the country, and Nissan is proud to be both a participant and an event partner.
