For A Sedan That Goes The Extra Mile, Check Out The New Nissan Maxima

Nissan Maxima

Every car class is designed for a different group of people. For example, a sedan is a fantastic car for small families or single drivers who want a bit of extra space for when friends want to join in. They make great first cars as well, thanks to their affordable cost, good size to power ratio and solid fuel efficiency. Nissan sells a number of sedans that each cater to a different driver, with the Altima being the most popular. However, the all-new 2017 Nissan Maxima is a heavy contender to fight for that title, thanks to its attractive style and bold design.

While it may appear to be a regular sedan at first glance, the #Maxima fuses hints of sportiness into its design.. The engine is the first area where this car is strikingly different from a traditional model. The 300 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque that this 3.5-liter V6 engine provides is enough to rival that of many full blown sports cars. When building this machine, the engineers took some inspiration from the GT-R, Nissan’s powerful supercar, such as sodium-filled valves and the fuel-injection process. Nissan has also developed a continuously variable transmission that fits this car perfectly, as it switches between gears much faster than a regular transmission. This allows the car to accelerate faster and feel more responsive.

Along with the engine, the exterior look and interior finishings bolster the sporty feel. The car’s sweeping aerodynamic curves were crafted to look like a jet fighter, in order to stand out from traditional sedans. The aero design carries over into the interior, which as you might be able to guess, looks similar to a cockpit. The cabin is a gorgeous cream color, with Ascot leather and a diamond-quilted pattern that looks and feels like luxury. The push-to-start button also flashes red as you climb into to the car, as if it is eager to be driven.

For a unique driving experience with a unique car, come visit Coast Nissan, where you can become the pilot of this sporty sedan. We also have great deals on Nissan leases and offer a host of affordable Nissan services, so find us online at www.coastnissan.com.

Three Big Reasons To Consider The New Nissan Rogue

Nissan Rogue 1

With all the new and exciting features that companies are installing on their vehicles, it can sometimes be difficult to distinguish which ones are really important. Having all these features isn’t a bad thing, but it makes sifting through to make sure a car meets all your needs a challenging task. It can be especially hard to find out what features are new or changed from last year, so here is a quick guide to the Nissan Rogue and its three new updates.

Hybrid Engine: The most exciting change for most drivers is the available #hybrid engine. It may not put out the same horsepower or torque, but the added fuel economy more than makes up for it in economic savings. This engine still packs a punch though, and is just as responsive as the traditional motor.

All-Wheel Drive: The Nissan Rogue is a crossover SUV, not a big truck or full-size SUV. These two classes are the usual recipients of an all-wheel drive setup, but the Rogue is no ordinary car. It makes great use of this feature in order to help navigate difficult terrain, as well as make driving in hazardous conditions more manageable. This car is meant to be versatile, and including all-wheel drive is important as it helps make any adventure a tad easier.

Remodeled Interior: While the exterior did receive a few changes to its grille and overall design, the true beauty lies in its new interior. New sound-absorbing materials and thickened window glass minimize the amount of noise from highways and rough roads, so your drive is smooth and quiet. The optional dark camel leather and extra stitching really helps make the car feel more luxurious.

We invite you to visit Coast Nissan, where you can test drive the 2017 Rogue for yourself. We are the number one San Luis Obispo car dealer, so be sure to check out our extensive inventory and Nissan leases online at www.coastnissan.com.  We want to be your dealership!

Nissan Looks To Merge Electric Car Platforms With Renault and Mitsubishi

shutterstock_191693912

Electric cars have slowly become more developed over recent years.  They are a viable way to power a vehicle, rather than just a sort of experimental way to cut down on emissions. The steady increase in available battery life and range is responsible for this. It makes these cars much more practical for everyday drivers. There has also been a substantial increase in charging speed and the number of charging stations across the country. To continue this trend of positive growth, Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi are joining forces and merging their electric car platforms.

There are several immediate benefits to these partnerships. For starters, the companies can begin sharing their latest research and tests. Normally, securing funding and even carrying out these experiments takes time, and this should prevent redundant research ventures from consuming resources. Each company also has their own areas of focus, and combining these will ensure the final product is refined and well-crafted. Renault and Nissan have had many successful partnerships in the past. These combined efforts along with Mitsubishi will hopefully jump start a new era of breakthroughs.

The main goal of this collaboration is to eventually slash prices down to the level of comparable gas cars. #Electric cars are normally more expensive than traditionally vehicles, but can quickly make up that difference with various government rebates and the fuel savings. If this group effort can make cars like the Nissan Leaf more cost and fuel efficient, then it can have a positive impact on the environment and lower emissions. The Nissan Leaf has on of the highest ranges currently offered and is already an economic choice for drivers.

For a look at the various incentives and benefits that a new or used Nissan Leaf can provide, come have a chat with our friendly sales team at Coast Nissan. We have a wide selection of 2017 models and Nissan leases, so be sure to find us online at www.coastnissan.com.

The Nissan Titan Is Perfect For New And Veteran Truck Drivers

NIssan titan 2

Multipurpose vehicles have been gaining traction in markets over the past couple of years thanks to their versatility. Car makers have been rapidly trying to incorporate as many technological and safety features into their cars, as well as expand the cabin to comfortably fit a family. This has made classes like the crossover SUV popular. In a surprising reveal though for this year, Nissan has managed to bring this adaptability to their trucks like the Nissan Titan.

The #NissanTitan has always been a dependable and powerful truck meant for hauling trailers and tackling any other odd jobs. For 2017 though, Nissan decided to broaden the appeal of this pickup to all drivers, including people who have never driven a truck before. While they may seem bulky or difficult to maneuver, trucks like the Titan are designed to be incredibly user and family friendly. Wide mirrors and a 360 degree camera mean that backing up and changing lanes is easy and quick, while the conservative sizing of the Crew Cab and base Titan model makes the car handle more like an SUV. We encourage you to stop by for a test drive and see for yourself how practical and simple driving the Titan is.

Nissan Titan 4

While the Titan may have a larger cabin and more luxury interior features, it hasn’t forgotten its roots. The 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine with Adaptive Shift Control and Downshift Rev Matching handles the road and towing with ease, putting out enough horsepower to handle any load. It also features Zero Gravity seats so any long rides or vacations are comfortable and cozy.

The 2017 Titan is designed to give any truck driver, new or experienced, the best value from their hard earned money. Come test drive one at your local San Luis Obispo car dealer, Coast Nissan, where we offer fantastic Nissan service, and look for our latest deals online at www.coastnissan.com.

The Nissan Juke Sets A new J-Turn Record

Nissan Juke 3

There are a number of specialty turns and maneuvers you can use to get out of or into some sticky situations. The most popular is the U-Turn, which is always handy for when you accidentally pass your location and need to turn around. Parallel parking allows for numerous cars to fit onto the sides of roads or busy streets. Also popular is the J-turn, where a car goes from forward to reverse while only moving in a confined space. Recently, the Nissan Juke, with the help of its Intelligent Around View Monitor (AVM), performed a J-turn “blind” and set a new world record.

It may come as a surprise, but there are official records for performing each of these maneuvers, and they even have a “sighted” and “blind” category. The sighted category allows for the use of both cameras and regular vision, but the blind category requires all the windows to be completely blacked out so the driver must rely on the car’s cameras. Fortunately, the #NissanJuke is one of the only cars to feature an Intelligent AVM, which gives a crystal clear image of the surroundings along with a 360-degree bird’s eye view.

Nissan Juke 6

The turn was completed by stunt driver Paul Swift, who had to turn the car 180-degrees around in a space only 18 cm longer than the car itself. Suffice to say, that is no easy task, even when having full vision. Swift was able to make the turn in record time, setting a new blind record and even tying the record for a sighted turn. He commented, “I can really see how using the AVM technology in everyday driving situations would be a real benefit to Nissan customers.”

You too can try out the AVM system by test driving the 2017 Juke at Coast Nissan, the number one San Luis Obispo car dealer. We have great deals on new Nissans or even Nissan leases, and you can check us out online at www.coastnissan.com.

Nissan Leads Discussion On The Future Of The Car Industry

Nissasn leaf

Through the advancement of technology, car companies are looking to push their vehicles into a new era of programmability and safety. Electric and hybrid cars have incredible energy efficiency, and when operating on battery power have zero emissions. New autonomous or self-driving cars can help make long drives on highways more bearable. All these advancements help make the world a safer and cleaner place, and Nissan has recently held a talk about its new, “technological breakthrough in the realization of a zero-emission, zero-fatality world for everyone.”

All electric cars like the #NissanLeaf and hybrid cars like new Nissan Rogue are helping reduce the amount of pollutants and greenhouse gases that are emitted into the atmosphere. In places like China and sometimes even London, smog and pollution has become so bad that wearing a surgical mask to go outside can be a necessity. These foul contaminants can cause lung damage and exacerbate current conditions like asthma. Those governments have already imposed emission regulations on new cars, and Nissan is leading the fight against pollution with its combination of electric, hybrid, and fuel efficient cars. The company recognizes that changes need to be made in order to prevent such conditions in America, and is already taking action.

Coast Nissan 1 plug ins in a row

The other major talking point covered the inherent safety of having a society that drives mostly autonomous vehicles. With a common technology or connection, these cars could easily share information with nearby autonomous cars, including intended path and when they will speed up or slow down. This could even make accidents and collisions a thing of the past. Look for these cars to hit the market as early as 2020.

You too can reduce your emissions by getting a new or used Nissan Leaf or hybrid at Coast Nissan, your local San Luis Obispo car dealer. We have a great sales team that can answer any questions you may have, or you can visit our website at www.coastnissan.com.

Nissan Examines The Benefits Of A Mitsubishi Partnership

shutterstock_191693912

In case you haven’t been following Nissan in the news recently, the company has been looking to join forces with Mitsubishi Motors and reviving them from their current position. This partnership would allow for shared research and development as well as bringing back thousands of jobs. Mitsubishi was recently faced the consequences of inaccurately presorting fuel-economy figures, but Nissan firmly believes it can bring back the company from the pit it is currently in. Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosen recently outlined why he believes that the partnership could be greatly beneficial for everyone.

Back in 1999, Nissan had been through some difficult times and was on the brink of collapse, but a timely joining of forces with the company Renault turned that all around and turned it into the industry powerhouse it is today. A similar partnership with Mitsubishi Motors would have a number of economic and consumer benefits. The driving factor behind this merger is that Mitsubishi’s strengths complement Nissan’s, and it will help the company grow in important areas like deeper localization, common vehicle platforms and technology sharing. This is especially important with the arrival of more electric and self-driving cars.

Additionally, Nissan will be able to salvage many of the physical assets that Mitsubishi had to close down, including production plants and dealerships. This will create thousands of jobs and hopefully bring some life back to the communities most affected by these shutdowns. Perhaps most importantly, Ghosen added, “We know what it’s like to face a crisis and emerge stronger,” and they can use that experience to hopefully achieve a similar result as the #Renault-Nissan Alliance.

The Titan And Frontier Makes Big Waves In 2016

NIssan titan 2

It has certainly been an exciting and crazy 2016, even in the auto industry. With talks of new hybrids, electric vehicles and self-driving cars, some interesting makes and models are sure to find their way to dealerships in the coming future. But surprisingly, 2016 has been a standout year for trucks, with sales reaching record highs and blowing away expectations. Perhaps this is due to their versatility and overall usefulness for everyday tasks. Whatever the reason, the Nissan Frontier and Titan have been incredibly popular, and their new 2017 changes have only added to the excitement.

The mid-size Frontier and full-size Titan are two of the most awarded trucks in their class, and have had great sales over the past year. The 2017 Frontier has some heavy competition in the Toyota Tacoma and the Chevy Colorado, but its’ dependable engine and spacious cabin have made it a big hit with families. It has shown an impressive 41.5 percent increase in sales, and Nissan is already working on implementing its NissanConnect technology and mobile apps into the upcoming 2018 model. If you need a family ride that is in it for the long haul, consider the Frontier an excellent candidate.

The 2017 Titan and #TitanXD have already been released, and the Crew Cab is not far behind. So far the updates to its exterior and interior design have paid off, with the car sporting a huge 363 percent increase in its third month of sales. This full-size pickup is great for those who want a little more luxury in their cab while still maintaining a powerful towing capacity.

Come check out either of these new trucks at Coast Nissan, your local San Luis Obispo car dealer, where our friendly sales team will be happy to give you a test drive, Nissan lease or keys to your own truck. Nissan Seeks Goal Of Developing Connected Cars

Nissasn leaf

As creating self-driving cars has become the goal that most automakers have set themselves, it’s important to consider all the potential benefits that a computer operated car can provide. These machines not only let you relax a bit more on your tedious drive to work each morning, they provide important information that can save you time and money. This is a concept termed “connected cars,” and it allows for better navigation, predictability and safety.

Much like the transition that phones made from a simple calling device to a computer in your pocket, vehicles are slowly becoming autonomous and also will be able to connect to the internet. This change means that cars will be able to communicate with one another and relay information back to a central system. It can then use this data to improve the efficiency of apps such as navigation. Each car will know if there is an accident on the highway or if some new road work is slowing down traffic in a certain area, thanks to other cars that have already encountered the incident. This allows for immediate, real-time updating of your navigation app.

There are many other exciting applications of this connectivity. Want to know if there is a free charging station or a spot open in a parking garage? Thanks to environmental sensors, an already parked self-driving car could tell if there is room open next to it, allowing entire parking lots to be mapped out in less than a second. These dynamic apps will change the way people drive, and adapt to the constantly changing world by simply being connected to other vehicles.

Nissan expects to have these cars on the road by 2020, but for now you can check out the award winning #Altima or a used Nissan Leaf at Coast Nissan. We have a wide selection of all the new 2017 models and provide many Nissan services, so check out our whole inventory online at www.coastnissan.com.

Nissan Releases Latest Truck In Titan Lineup

NIssan titan 2

The 2017 Nissan Titan XD full size pickup hit dealerships a few months ago as one of the earliest releases of the new year’s lineup. It was a bit of a teaser of what was still to come from the rest of Nissan’s Titan versions, which all offer their own individual packages. The next Titan to arrive is the regular Nissan Titan, which has been redesigned like the XD in order to offer more of the features that truck drivers are looking for.

The Titan XD was Nissan’s largest heavy duty pickup, while the Titan is a bit more compact and better suited for people who don’t need to tow extremely heavy loads. That’s not to say the Titan is lacking in the towing department; a 390-hp V8 engine with seven-speed transmission can haul some of the biggest trailers. Currently only the V8 is offered, but the V6 option will be released at a later date. Additionally, the truck is currently only offered in a four-door crew cab, with an optional extended-cab version arriving shortly. This is in addition to the number of upgrade packages including the ever popular PRO-4X and stylish Platinum Reserve.

Nissan Titan 4

The crew-cab model is one of the most attractive variations of this rugged truck, as it still provides plenty of seating for family members and cargo room in the bed for extra luggage. Multiple aluminum cleats on the sides of the bed can be repositioned and locked down to provide a place for bungee cords or cables to loop through them. It also has a 120-volt power outlet and LED lights so you can work hard even in the dark.

Come check out any of this versatile lineup of trucks at Coast Nissan. We can help you find one to meet your needs, or you can check us out at www.coastnissan.com.
