Nissan Expanding its Smyrna Plant and Adding New Jobs

 

Nissan is planning to expand its Tennessee Auto Manufacturing facility and adding 1,000 new jobs in Smyrna as part of a $160 million expansion. The Japanese automaker plans to build a new supplier park at its auto assembly plant in Tennessee. The new project is expected to be completed in 2017 and will resemble the one that the company announced in 2013 at its Canton Mississippi facility. Gov. Bill Haslam said: “Nissan and Tennessee have enjoyed a long and successful partnership, and today’s announcement is another significant milestone in our history together.” Jose Munoz, Executive Vice President with Nissan Motor Co. said: “This project is a key component to the long-term sustainability of our U.S. business as we close in on a goal of 10% U.S. market share.” If you would like to read the full article please click on the link below:
