Nissan Sponsors Electric-Vehicle Event that Shatters Records


To celebrate America’s National Drive Electric Week, Nissan helped coordinate and event in California that is now considered to be the world’s largest-ever electric vehicle meet-up. The event witnessed 507 cars in one place, allowing this event to shatter previous world records. Nissan said that the majority of the electric vehicles present at the event were Nissan LEAF models. Nissan was the official automotive sponsor for National Drive Electric Week this year, and they announced that electric vehicle sales are on the rise and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Toby Perry, Director of Nissan EV Marketing, said: “We are currently at around 61,000 sales in the United States since the launch of LEAF four years ago. It is number one in the market (and) number one in the world.
