Find Out Whether You Should Buy Or Lease A New Car At Coast Nissan

Monday, September 25th, 2017

One of the biggest questions for any new car owner is whether to buy or lease. Leasing rose in popularity during the 1980s as many people didn’t want to be locked down to a single car over many years. There are advantages to both, and our friendly sales team at Coast Nissan will be happy to help you determine which is the best option. Here is just a brief overview on each and their relative benefits from our San Luis Obispo car dealership.

Buying A Car

There is a certain pride that comes with owning a car, and by purchasing a vehicle you can save money in the long run as long as it remains well serviced. While you may have higher monthly payments, the payments only last over a finite period. Once the loan on the car has been paid off, you fully own the vehicle and with regular maintenance, can make it last for many more years. Buying a car is a great option for people who love a particular model or style of car, or simply want the economic freedom that comes with owning a vehicle.

Benefits Of Leasing

Many people can’t stand to just drive one car for years on end or want the new features and technologies that come with new cars each year. Leases also generally have low monthly payments and less of a down payment. Your warranty covers the majority of repair costs, and once the contract is finished, you can move on to a brand-new release or change vehicle types.

Ultimately, buying a car is more of a long-term investment than leasing, and will reward you down the line. However, a lease can be perfect for the time when you are saving up money to put a down payment on a new car and prepare for the higher monthly bills. Be sure to stop by our coastal Nissan dealership for the answers to any other questions you may have and to find the best deals on new and used Nissans.

Charge Your Car For Free With A New Leaf Purchase From Coast Nissan

Monday, September 18th, 2017

Throughout countries like the United Kingdom and the United States, electric car charging infrastructure is slowly expanding and being offered in more places. Much like traditional cars need gas stations, in order to make longer road trips electric cars need charging stations that they can visit to “refuel”. Companies like Tesla, BMW and Nissan have also worked to vastly increased the number of these stations available to driver and to speed up the charging process. Thanks to Nissan’s No Charge To Charge program, owners of the Nissan Leaf can now explore farther than ever, so head over to your local San Luis Obispo car dealer, Coast Nissan, to learn more about this program.

The Rise Of Charging Stations

One of the big concerns for many people thinking about making the switch to electric cars is the limited range. Early models could only go for less than 100 miles without needed more energy, but with new advancements such as those found on the Nissan Leaf, electric cars can easily achieve a 200 mile range. This distance is more than enough for your average work day, but planning longer adventures used to be more difficult. Now with thousands of charging stations popping up around the country, it’s easy to find a place to recharge.

No Charge To Charge

The No Charge To Charge program is free to all new Nissan Leaf buyers for two years after purchase. The Nissan charging stations are fast and powerful DC chargers that can provide a full charge in about 30 minutes, and their efficiency is only improving as the technology becomes more advanced. Nissan predicts that by 2020, electric charging stations will outnumber traditional gas stations in many cities and some countries like the UK, as they are more affordable and energy efficient. The 2018 Nissan Leaf debuts at coastal Nissan dealerships in early September and is sure to be one of the hottest cars of the year. Stop by to test drive one soon and learn more about how it can save you money.

Check Out The Latest Safety Features On The 2018 Pathfinder Coming Soon To Coast Nissan

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017

Humans can often get sidetracked, and on the road, this can prove quite dangerous as distracted driving is one of the biggest cause of accidents each year. It is even estimated that over 1,000 people are injured each day because of a distracted driver. The latest 2018 Nissan models include several new features that alert the driver to changes in traffic and can take preventative actions. Other features simply remind the driver of kids, pets or groceries they may have forgotten. Come down to Coast Nissan today in San Luis Obispo, CA and to learn more about these safety tools and let us remind you of why our dealership provides the best car buying experience.

Highway Tools

While 52% of accidents occur within 5 miles of your home, accidents on the highway have more severe consequences due to higher speed limits. Nissan has several new features to keep your eyes on the road, such as the integrated navigation system. Instead of having to look down at your phone or even at the center console to view your directions, you can now view the direction on a screen in between the speedometer and tachometer, reducing the time your eyes aren’t monitoring traffic. Other features such as Lane Keep Assist work to alert the driver when the car begins to sway from the lane, and Blind Spot Warnings notify you of cars you may not be able to see.

Rear Door Alert

The Rear Door Alert is aimed at reducing the number of children and pets who die each year as a result of being left in a hot car. This system can detect if the rear door was open before a trip starts, and remind you later to check the back seat for anything you may have forgotten. This new feature will be available on the 2018 Pathfinder coming this fall to coastal Nissan dealerships. You can also find model year end savings deals on all our 2017 vehicles, so hurry in to Coast Nissan today to find your dream car.

Check Out The New ProPilot Assist System Coming To 2018 Coast Nissan Models

Wednesday, August 16th, 2017

The revolutionary Nissan ProPilot Assist system is debuting at Coast Nissan with the 2018 models, and is an exciting technology that makes driving easier and less stressful. Along with helping to keep drivers safe and monitoring your car’s position on the road, the various ProPilot tools make everyday tasks like parking simpler. This allows you to enjoy driving more and appreciate the fun parts of getting behind the wheel. Here is a quick overview of the ProPilot system from your local coastal Nissan dealership in SLO.

Assisted Driving

Nissan’s ProPilot Assist was not designed to fully automate the car, only to help the driver in navigations and safety. Once ProPilot is activated, the driver must have at least one hand on the wheel at all times. The system will then identify the lane the car is in along with its speed and will automatically make adjustments depending on traffic. It can slow down the vehicle to the speed of the car it’s following and will keep a safe distance away to avoid a collision. The ProPilot system is one of the steadiest and advanced systems on the market, able to adapt to sharp curves with ease and remain in the lane without swaying from side to side.

Simplifying Tasks

Finding the right parking spot and pulling into it can be difficult, but the ProPilot parking system can easily automate the process. Once the target spot is identified by the system, it will automatically move the steering wheel, accelerate and brake the car to guide it into position. All of these features are made possible thanks to the addition of various sensors and cameras that make the car aware of its surroundings.

Much like the ProPilot system, our Coast Nissan sales team is happy to assist with any questions you may have. Our San Luis Obispo car dealer prides itself on offering the best customer service in town, so visit us today or head online to www.coastnissan.com.

Nissan’s Improved Cruise Control Adapts To Other Drivers

Monday, August 7th, 2017

There are many new advancements coming to Nissan models this year, thanks to the time and money the company has invested into developing autonomous cars. Many features such as blind spot recognition have stemmed from this development, as engineers searched for a way to recognize if a car was in an adjacent lane. More and more of these autonomous features are being integrated into the 2018 lineup, such as the Nissan E-Pedal which improves regenerative braking. The latest advancement is an updated adaptive cruise and lane control system, so be on the lookout for the 2018 models arriving soon at Coast Nissan in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Cruise control is a fantastic feature that makes driving on highways or long distances much easier on the driver. By simply accelerating to your desired speed and activating it, you can cruise along without needing to worry. The only time you need to slow down is if a car is moving slowly in front of you, but adaptive cruise control can automatically do this. Coupled with lane management technology, the adaptive system can keep you centered in the lane and automatically adjust the speed of the car to fit whoever you are following.

ProPilot Assist

While adaptive cruise control may seem like it’s a self-driving feature, it is meant to be an assistance system where the driver remains engaged with the road. It can offer a relief during heavy traffic or on road trips, but drivers still need to pay attention and remained focus. Road conditions can change in an instant, and even the best adaptive cruise control system can’t account for every scenario. Nissan commented that, “The driver’s role hasn’t changed. We are just providing assistance.”

Try Out Nissan’s New E-Pedal On 2018 Models At Coast Nissan

Thursday, August 3rd, 2017

With many car companies now producing an electric vehicle, Nissan is working on more ways to make the Nissan Leaf truly stand out from the competition. The Leaf was one of the first electric cars to break the 100 mile range mark, and it has always been one of the most affordable electric cars on the market. Lately, Nissan has been improving upon its regenerative braking process that allows the car to regain power. The next-gen Nissan Leaf will feature this brand new e-Pedal, which you can try for yourself at a coastal Nissan dealership in San Luis Obispo.

What Is Regenerative Braking?

Regenerative braking is a surprisingly simple process that allows an electric car to regain power when slowing down or traveling on an incline. In regular braking systems, the car is simply brought to a stop by applying pressure to the wheels, in the this process all the kinetic energy goes to waste. In regenerative braking, the kinetic energy is either stored or immediately converted into a form that can be used when speeding up again. This makes the car far more energy efficient and also extends the life of your brakes, saving you money on repairs.

One Pedal System

One of the biggest changes that regenerative braking makes is only having one pedal for both accelerating and decelerating. To go faster, simply press down as normal. Releasing will slow the car down and bring it to a stop, even on slopes such as hills. When you are ready to go again, the car will resume driving with nearly no delay. The e-Pedal can take some time getting used to, which is why it is completely optional and activated by flipping a switch.

The e-Pedal will allow skilled drivers to extend the range of the 2018 Leaf even further, which will soon be available at Coast Nissan for a test drive. Our San Luis Obispo car dealer also offers great deals on all new and used Nissan models, which you can find online at www.coastnissan.com.
