What you need to know when buying a used Nissan?

Nissan 2

Japanese car maker Nissan Motor Company has become one of the leading brands for reliable vehicles. Although most people would prefer to buy a brand new car, used cars are not a bad idea if you are a little tight on cash and do not want to invest heavily in a new vehicle. Nissan has maintained a reputation of designing very durable and reliable vehicles. Even if these cars are over a decade old, they are still in excellent running condition. However, there are a few aspects you will need to focus on when you are considering buying a used Nissan.

First things first, you need to check the performance of Nissan. When you find a used Nissan available for sale, read up on what the car’s specifications are. Learn about the engine, power delivery, and transmission it offers. When you test-drive the car, you can gauge if it is in its best running condition. Consult a professional mechanic with the car for a more detailed assessment.

The fuel economy of a vehicle is also one of its biggest selling points. A car’s mileage would have decreased over time, but not too much. A very low mileage could be indicative of an engine issue. Another area to focus on is the Nissan’s handling and driving ease. If it is a large car, like the Murano or Xterra, you will need more experience with handling the vehicle.

Nissan USA Receives ‘Chairman Award’

Nissan

2016 is promising for Nissan, with winning the Best Car in the 2-row SUV segment and now receiving the Chairman Award at the 42nd Annual National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) convention in Boston. Once a year, the NSBE recognizes a company from the NSBE board of Corporate Affiliates for its outstanding contribution and unending support to the accomplishments and goals of the NSBE and its members.

NSBE’s Executive Director, Karl W. Reid said that the members decided unanimously that for 2016, the rightful recipient is Nissan as a token of appreciation for its commitment to the NBSE vision to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, make a positive impact on the country and succeed professionally.

Nissan has never failed to support the Summer Engineering Experience for Kids (SEEK) programs held in Atlanta, Chicago and Jackson, Mississippi. The program is curated by NSBE and led by technical professionals and engineering students and is aimed at being a fun, engaging educational experience for children.

The program caters to elementary and middle school children and is for duration of three weeks. Topics covered in the SEEK program include science, math, product development, problem solving and team activities.

Commenting on the award, the Director of Diversity & Inclusion said that the company is aware of the African American students being underrepresented in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields. Supporting SEEK camps comes as an initiative to encourage minority students to pursue and excel in STEM fields.

Say Hello To The New Range Of Taxis From Nissan To Ply New York’s Roads

dfgaf

The Taxi and Limousine Commission of New York City plans to acquire the NV200 cars of Nissan that may soon become the dominant yellow taxis in the city. The decision will no doubt have a significant impact on Nissan’s journey that commenced in the year 2011. It was the year when Nissan succeeded in clinching a whopping $1 billion contract for supplying the cars to be used as taxis in the city.

A challenge was thrown by some of the taxi owners in the New York City. They challenged the authority of the Commission to implement the use of the Nissan NV200 cars for taxis in New York City. At present there are as many as forty seven varied models that had been earlier approved for being used in the city as cabs. Since the Ford Crown Victoria is not being used any more, there is no one vehicle that has come out as a favorite.

But there are some owners who may select from a bevy of hybrid models such as Lexus RX45oh, Highlander Hybrid and Toyota Prius. This can emerge as a good concept for a city like NYC. However, NV200 from Nissan is unavailable as a hybrid car despite the fact that the automaker does offer an Electric Vehicle version in its other markets.

There are more than 13,000 cabs roaming around the streets of NYC so it is hardly surprising that the taxis in the city are the most visible n the country. It is precisely for this reason that the taxi fleet of the city being taken over by NV200 can boost the possibility of raising the profile of the van.
