Nissan Shows Off New Truck Model At The Hannover Motor Show

Nissan Frontier 3

With the 2017 model year vehicles rolling out to dealerships, it’s never too early to look at what 2018 may have in store. At least, that’s what convention-goers of the 2016 Hannover Motor show may have been thinking as Nissan unveiled a new concept truck named the Navara EnGuard. The truck has a unique look that suits its off-road design, and is expected to be its own car or a look at the #2018NissanFrontier redesign.

The EnGuard appears to be in the same style as the Frontier, but also draws on the Double Cab design of the Nissan Navara, a truck currently only available in Europe. This truck is the perfect model to base a Frontier remodel off of considering it bears the current title of International Pick-up Award. The current Navara has a 2.3-liter 187 hp twin-turbo diesel engine to tow even the heaviest loads, while still managing off-road terrain.

The EnGuard model has a number of improvements on the Navara that would further enhance its off-road capabilities. The base of the truck has been raised in order to provide better clearance when navigating uneven areas, and the wheel arches have bespoke overfenders and side steps between them. The roof also has been raised, and the interior has a navigation system and dual-zone climate control. Lastly, a 360-degree camera gives a bird’s eye view of the surroundings to eliminate the need to exit the car to view nearby obstacles.

Look for this all new vehicle or Frontier update to hit dealerships next year, and for now check out the 2017 Frontier at Coast Nissan. We have a great sales team who would love to assist you in any way and a wide selection of cars. Check out our entire inventory at www.coastnissan.com.

The Nissan Frontier Combines Great Towing With Maneuverability

NIssan frontier

Midsize pickup trucks fill a special niche in the automotive industry. Often people want a truck with a large towing capacity, but without the extra bulk and length of a full-size pickup. Midsize trucks are more maneuverable and easier to navigate tight corners with than larger trucks, but also have a solid sized bed and towing capabilities. Nissan is one of the oldest manufacturers of midsize pickups, so it’s no surprise the Nissan Frontier is the best in its class.

The Nissan Frontier is an adventurous truck with seating for the whole crew and a sizeable bed and towing rating. The truck has available 152 horsepower four cylinder or 261 horsepower V-6 engine, the latter of which can tow up to 6,300 pounds, similar in strength to many full-size trucks. Other important options include rear or four-wheel drive, a feature to consider if you expect to do some off-road trekking. You can also choose between a 4.75 or 6-foot bed depending on how much gear your sport of choice takes.

On the interior, the Frontier has received a number of improvements in its latest remodel. The truck has removable under-seat storage in case you are hauling some extra equipment and need to room for passengers. Leather upholstery and heated seats are also available, along with a backup camera to help ease into those tight spaces at the parking garage. The truck also has made safety improvements beyond the required front airbags and antilock brakes, including side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags to protect all passengers.

The midsize pickup market may be small, but the Nissan Frontier fits it quite well. If you are looking for an adaptable and rugged truck with great maneuverability, come test drive a 2016 Nissan Frontier with the incredible Sales team at Coast Nissan.

New Frontier on the Way?

Coast Nissan 1_Copper2016Frontier

Photos of what could be the 2018 Nissan Frontier have recently been spied online. Though it’s at least two years away, the midsize truck, similar to the Navara, seems to be making its testing debut around metro-area Detroit. The test trucks, with their taped badges, raise a lot of interesting curiosity about whether this is the Navara, intended for foreign markets, or the next Frontier, which is available in the U.S.. One such test truck was marked as a diesel, which prompts us to wonder if Nissan has new ideas for the U.S. midsize pickup market. It appears to have a larger body size than the NP300, and hints at a possible consolidation to market a single midsize truck globally. The 2016 Frontier King Cab is available in three editions: S, SV 4-cylinder, and SV V6. Get a quote for your trade-in, and swing by for a test drive of the current model year midsize pickup. Contact Coast Nissan in SLO, and let the friendly team guide you through the exciting current financing offers.
