Experience Fine Arts And Fine Food Around San Luis Obispo This Month

shutterstock_259773713

If you are looking for some exciting weekend events or places to eat, there is no better area than San Luis Obispo. There are always new locations and performances to explore or enjoy, and you don’t even have to go on a long road trip in your Nissan to find them. The staff at Coast Nissan has called this area home for years, so let us show you some of the best entertainment spots and places to grab a nice bite to eat.

Any weekend is a good time to enjoy a concert, see a play or be amazed by a wonderful performance. That’s why the Cal Poly Arts foundation hosts at least one event on almost every weekend over at the Performing Arts Center on Grand Avenue. The February lineup consists of a showing of Rusalka from The Met: Live in HD series along with several concerts from popular bands like Paddy Moloney & The Chieftains. These events are great to see with friends, a date or even the whole family. Be sure not to miss the incredibly talented Golden Dragon Acrobats, who will be taking the stage on February 26. Ticket prices for all events are affordable and available online.

After one of these thrilling shows, you may want something to eat, so here are our picks of some of the best #burgers in the area. For a burger place that does all the classics extremely well, check out the Old Village Grill down in the Village of Arroyo Grande. The wood-lined walls and rich history of the place is the perfect backdrop for enjoying a bacon cheeseburger. Their Gardenburgers are perfect as a vegetarian option, and if you are feeling adventurous you can try a Pastrami Cheese Burger or the Cajun Blue Cheese Bacon Burger for a nice kick. What burger would be complete without fries and a milkshake? The Old Village Grill is a master of these, as well.

Not only should both dinner and the show be enjoyable, so should your drive around town. Whether you are cruising around in a new Nissan Altima or used Nissan Leaf, Coast Nissan is the best spot for deals on all cars and Nissan leases. Be sure to check us out online at www.coastnissan.com.

Nissan Is a Performance Brand: The Top 5 Proof Points

nissan performance

Nissan is blazing an exciting new path and we’re loving the ride.

A lot of people would not associate the word “performance” with the global car manufacturer Nissan. We get it. After all, the Leaf is made by Nissan. Can the Leaf be considered a performance car? Probably not.  The Leaf is just the start of the direction Nissan is going, though. We think it’s pretty cool that they can push off their long-developed technologies for electric vehicles to speed ahead in the performance arena. They usually stun with a new car, or a win, at Le Mans, so that’s nothing to sneeze at. And they are great at combining the fuel technologies of tomorrow with performance builds. We don’t see any other car manufacturers that have the same kind of focus and that makes Nissan unique. Here’s more proof that Nissan is owning the reputation of a performance brand:

  1. They were rated one of greatest Japanese sports cars of all time.

Maxim magazine ranked the Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 as one of the top sports cars ever coming out of Japan. This car is now considered practically an antique, but it shows that Nissan has a history of performance know-how.

  1. They were a top performer at the Olympics.

Nissan stunned the world with the unveiling of their 2017 BladeGlider prototype in Rio last August, touted to be one of first ever all-electric sports cars. It is the embodiment of future technologies, and demonstrates where Nissan is focusing their brand (on the future!)

  1. They are bringing even more performance to their EVs.

The infrastructure for electric vehicles continues to grow both here in the states and across the pond, and Nissan is keeping up with demand by constantly improving the batteries and other performance factors in their electric vehicles—proving that performance is their mission in every country and for every model.

  1. They are learning from the past and building on their success.

Speaking of the GT-R R32, wait until you see how Nissan has revamped it for 2017. It’s the most gorgeous muscle car we’ve ever seen.

  1. They keep revving their engines.

Nissan clearly understands the power of a powerful engine. You would be hard-pressed to find another automaker that has produced more performance-oriented engines than Nissan. For people who care about going fast, Nissan always delivers the horsepower.

Why not find the Nissan of your dreams at Coast Nissan?  Our award-winning team is here to help you.

The Nissan Leaf Is A Revolution In Driving

Nissan Leaf Review Long Term

Apart from offering a cheaper alternative to the petroleum, the Leaf provides for various methods through which you could further cut down on your energy costs.

For all those people looking for a long journey in the cold winter months, the best option is to preheat the cabin while the car is plugged into one of the charging stations.  Apart from this, there are a few minor hitches such as low voltage chargers’ insensitivity to some of the charging sockets, which can actually be deemed as pretty standard for the breed of EVs. A similar issue has been identified in the Chevrolet Volt as well, and can be shunned as nothing out of the ordinary. The possible explanation for this could be the structural design of the charging cord available on the EV.

The Leaf may not be an inevitable option of all the automobile enthusiasts out there, but it certainly has an appeal which strikes a chord with those who are open to more radical and futuristic technologies.

Speaking of its on road performance, the Leaf offers an impressive drag coefficient of 0.79 which facilitates handling akin to that of a huge SUV. The acceleration is responsive and can be increased up to a top speed limit of 92 mph. The car can easily hit the 0 to 60 mph mark within 10 seconds flat and takes another 8.7 to reach the 80 mph mark.

Performance and Safety Review of the 2016 Nissan Altima

2016-nissan-altima-rear-view-gun-metallic

The 2016 Nissan Altima is focused on improving its performance and fuel efficiency, making it a leader in its class. It does pack a punch under the hood and the SR actually feels quite nimble and sporty.

Performance specs

It comes in two engine options: the 2.5 liter, 4-cylinder, DOHC and the 3.5 liter, V6 DOHC. A Hybrid variant is no longer available. The 2.5 liter produces 180 bhp power and 180 ft-lb torque at high rpm ranges. Redline rpm is at 6800 rpm. If you rev up the SR too close to the redline, the car software automatically downshifts significantly. But the engine feels nice throughout the range. The V6 produces 270 bhp power and 258 ft-lb torque. The CVT manual transmission feels nice and smooth. The gears are simulated in the SR and SL to copy the gear ratios of automatics. The others come with manuals.

Safety

This 191.4 inch (109.3 inch wheelbase) long sedan is packed with safety features. ABS, traction and stability controls as well as rearview parking cameras are standard on all models. Some of the top get blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with front collision warning with emergency auto braking (only SL). Nissan also provides emergency assistance and lost car location assistance. It has a tire pressure monitor and is easy to fill, which means a warning system sounds buzzing when the tires have been inflated adequately. No separate monitors are required. The 2015 Nissan Altima, similar to this one, had got the highest possible ratings on crash safety tests from IIHS and NHTSA.

Nissan is giving you a “substantial” car for a reasonable bargain. It starts from the $23,000 level and goes up to just below $35,000 level, for the fully fitted top trim SL. So, it can cater to a wide section of the market. To know more, contact us at Coast Nissan.

What you need to know when buying a used Nissan?

Nissan 2

Japanese car maker Nissan Motor Company has become one of the leading brands for reliable vehicles. Although most people would prefer to buy a brand new car, used cars are not a bad idea if you are a little tight on cash and do not want to invest heavily in a new vehicle. Nissan has maintained a reputation of designing very durable and reliable vehicles. Even if these cars are over a decade old, they are still in excellent running condition. However, there are a few aspects you will need to focus on when you are considering buying a used Nissan.

First things first, you need to check the performance of Nissan. When you find a used Nissan available for sale, read up on what the car’s specifications are. Learn about the engine, power delivery, and transmission it offers. When you test-drive the car, you can gauge if it is in its best running condition. Consult a professional mechanic with the car for a more detailed assessment.

The fuel economy of a vehicle is also one of its biggest selling points. A car’s mileage would have decreased over time, but not too much. A very low mileage could be indicative of an engine issue. Another area to focus on is the Nissan’s handling and driving ease. If it is a large car, like the Murano or Xterra, you will need more experience with handling the vehicle.

Check out the wide range of used Nissan cars and SUVs available at the Coast Nissan dealership.

The 2017 Nissan GT-R is Here!

gfghfghgfh

Nissan just answered every GT-R fanboy’s prayer at the 2016 New York international Auto Show by presenting the all-new 2017 Nissan GT-R.

The new GT-R comes with some fresh interiors and significant upgrades on the outside as well. More importantly, the 2017 Nissan GT-R will come with some major upgrades in the performance department and a ton of new features.

The GT-R Premium, which is the first of the four variants, will hit showroom floors sometime in the summer of 2016.

Daniel Schillaci, Executive VP, Global Marketing & Sales stated that the latest GT-R will be the most  progressive, advanced, and refined sports car from the Nissan label. For those who know their GT-Rs, that’s something to really look forward to, considering the fact that older GT-Rs were light years away from being disappointing.

The VP also mentioned that the GT-R will now focus on 5 key areas – Exterior Design, Driving Performance, Technology, Interior Refinement, and Ride Comfort. The objective being that Nissan plans to surpass all current expectations of “Excitement” and “Refinement” that the GT-R is already known for.

The GT-R has always set the standards for Japanese automotive engineering and design and has also remained loyal to its Japanese personality. The new version is expected to really push the limits by bringing together the refinement and class of a Grand Tourer and the precision and performance of a purebred Racer.

To put it simply, Nissan plans to expand on the GT-R’s “Godzilla” legend.

To pre-book your 2017 Nissan GT-R, come to Coast Nissan to get more information.
