Morro Bay Scenic Drive

The coastal areas to the north of San Luis Obispo are filled with diverse wildlife and plant life, and they offer some spectacular panoramic views. The route begins near Bishop’s Peak and Madonna Mountain, and heads past acres of farmlands, as well as nine different volcanic plugs along the coast. From there you can either head down a winding road that goes past Los Osos Creek or visit Morro Bay State Park. San Luis Obispo is a big part of the wine country, and the rolling hills along Highway 46 are home to some of the finest vineyards in the country.
