The Nissan Foundation Reaching out to Non-Profit Organizations

The Nissan Foundation was initially developed to support programs that educate people about the value of cultural diversity in the American society, back in 1992; today, the foundation continues to accomplish its goal by pledging to build a community by valuing diversity and inviting nonprofit organizations that align with its mission to apply for a Nissan Foundation grant. The Nissan program is currently seeking recipients for the 2015 Nissan Foundation grant year. “The Nissan Foundation is committed to enriching people’s lives in places where Nissan operates,” said Vicki Smith, executive director of the Nissan Foundation. “We want to work with nonprofit partners that are developing innovative, relevant programs – ones that help people to have a greater respect for the benefits that come from living and working together in a diverse society.” This past year alone, the Japanese automaker organization awarded $715,000 to over 30 organizations across the nation.
