Nissan has announced that it will expand its cooperation with partner Mercedes-Benz to build a new mid-sized pickup truck for the German automaker. Mercedes-Benz plans to target commercial and private clients in Europe, Latin America, Australia and South Africa, and will share some of the underpinnings with an-all Nissan NP300 truck. Daimler Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche said: “Entering the rapidly growing segment of midsize pickups is an important step in continuing our global growth path.” Nissan will build the pickup truck for several markets in Argentina and in the Nissan plant in Barcelona. Lastly, Nissan states that the Barcelona plant will produce about 120,000 units annually, while the Cordoba plant will produce about 70,000 vehicles a year. Nissan Motor Co. recently revealed to Auto News that it will introduce automatic braking as a standard feature in all Japanese market volume cars later this year. Additionally, the Japanese automaker revealed that the first vehicle to receive this new technology will be the hybrid X-Trail SUV. Nissan is proud to announce that this year four Nissan GT-R NISMO GT500 models will be competing in the 2015 Super GT Season. This weekend all race teams will be heading to the Okayama International Circuit for the opening round of the season. The Okayama International Circuit Venue is the opening round of the season while also being the exact location for the official tests held a few weeks prior to this main event. This year’s Motegi Super Enhance was held at the Twin Ring Motegi in Tochigi Prefecture where car #24 was able to attain a 2^nd place finish. Although the race distance for a typical round is usually three hours, this year the opening round is set at 5 hours and the Fuji race is scheduled to be 8 hours. Tomonobu Fujii said: “”This being Motegi, a 5-hour marathon race [and tough on the brakes], even from qualifying we were concentrating intently on the car’s setup. We started the race in 2nd place and we were all careful to implement our drive according to the strategy that we had developed before hand.
