The incredible community events that occur every month in San Luis Obispo make living and working here a heartwarming and enjoyable experience. From numerous festivals to parades and celebrations of major holidays, there is almost always something interesting to take part in every weekend. One of the best traditions this county has doesn’t take place over just one weekend though, it has events all throughout May. This tradition is Bike Month, and it is the largest community organized event in SLO. Each May in San Luis Obispo is dedicated to bikes, and there are plenty of ways to get involved in this extraordinary event. The first step is to head over to rideshare.org and check out the fun-filled calendar of events. The easiest ones to participate in are the Bike to Work Days, and you can join hundreds of other riders in this green form of transportation. Kids can even get involved with the Bike to School Days, and they can log their progress online to win some awesome prizes.

Speaking of prizes, there are several incentives to bike around the city, other than just reducing emissions. You can stop by any Bike to Work Day Stations each day to collect a raffle ticket to win a variety of rewards at the Official Bike to Work Day After Party. There is also a special mystery prize for people who share their biking experiences on social media using the hashtag #LETSGETVISIBLE.
