The Nissan Kicks Complete Coverage – II

Nissan Coast

The Nissan Kicks has become quite popular among the masses and those in love with the awesome hatchbacks that Nissan is known for. Some of the special features of the Nissan Kicks include a floating roof with what is called a ‘wrap around visor’ – which we will go into in more detail later on, a state of the art infotainment system and surprisingly spacious rear seats for the passengers.

The exteriors – here’s a little bit about the exterior design of the Nissan Kicks

Staying true to the Kicks concept adopted by Nissan, the exterior body boasts a classy and chic greyish-silver finish with a hint of burnt orange on the ‘floating’ roof of the car. The roof has been described as floating because it gradually droops down on the waistline of either side of the car. The ‘wrap around visor’ effect is caused due to the burnt orange finish on the roof that wraps around the sides of the hood or roof of the car to create a wrap around effect on the top of the car doors.

The interiors – the ‘gliding wing’ dashboard is characterized by the rim that curves around the top of the dashboard and slowly transitions into a styling line on the trims of each door. This gives passengers the feeling that they’re sitting inside a bubble. The two-tone color scheme – light brown seats, front facing dash and the insert looks very classy against the rest of the black interiors.

Complete Coverage of the Nissan Maxima – III

Maxima

Well, we know that the 2016 Nissan Maxima has great a great interior and a great exterior. But, none of that matters if the vehicle doesn’t have the right heart. Luckily, the Maxima has something fantastic to offer under the hood.

It is powered by a new 3.5 liter V-6 that’s mated to an Xtronic transmission. The Xtronic transmission also happens to be performance oriented. Almost 60% of the parts used in the drivetrain are completely new compared the older V-6.

As a result, the new engine puts out 300 horsepower and 261 pound feet of torque. That’s around 10 horsepower more than the previous engine. That’s a good bump in power.  However, that’s not the best part. The best part is the engine’s fuel efficiency. Nissan has managed to achieve a 15% boost in fuel economy, despite the increase in power.

So, now, the Maxima offers 30 miles to the gallon on the highway and 22 miles to the gallon on city roads.

It is also one of the more powerful sedans in its class. In comparison to the Toyota Avalon, the Maxima offers 32 horsepower more and when compared to the Chevrolet Impala, it only lacks a mere 3 horses. Also, acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is estimated to be around 6 seconds, which makes it faster than both, the Avalon and the Impala.

Complete Coverage of the Nissan Maxima – II

Maxima

We saw how much of the 2016 Maxima’s exteriors were based on the Sport Sedan Concept. However, the subtle design cues don’t just end with the exteriors. The 2016 Maxima has borrowed quite a few cues for the interiors as well.

For instance, the instrument cluster and dashboard are, pretty much, identical replicas of the ones found in the concept vehicle. The only difference is that, here, there are actual production features in place, such as the HVAC vents, functional knobs and buttons.

There is a lot going on at the center console as well. You have fixtures such as the start/stop button, more knobs, cup holders, and a new gear shifter. Despite all these fixtures, the Maxima’s interiors still look well organized and very premium.

The center stack is also angled towards the driver up to about 7 degrees. Apparently, this has been inspired by the GT-R’s center stack positioning.  The console gets a touch of luxury as well, with side padding and contrast stitching. This is something you’ll find even on the door and instrument panels.

Nissan’s Zero Gravity seats with bolsters on the side come as standard on the 2016 Maxima. Also, they have 8 and 4-way adjustment options for the driver and passenger, respectively. The seats are also much softer now, thanks to an innovative 3-layer foam design.

On the base models, premium cloth serves as the wrapping material for the seats. On the higher trims, Nissan has used Ascot leather and standard leather. Alcan Tara is also offered as an option for select surfaces in the cabin.

Complete Coverage of the Nissan Maxima- I

Maxima

Nissan just launched the 2016 Maxima, which happens to be the 8th generation version of its kind. It’s been 4 decades since the Maxima was introduced as a trim level for the ’76 Nissan Bluebird. The new Maxima was unveiled as a surprise impression during the company’s 2015 Super Bowl Ad. But, that was just a teaser.

The official debut happened at the recent New York Auto Show. Needless to say, the debut wowed audiences. The Maxima boasted of a complete design overhaul that incorporated plenty of sport DNA; something that the Maxima has been treated to in extremely small doses in the past.

The 2016 Maxima is definitely an attention grabber. It enjoys an appearance that is similar to that of the Sport Sedan Concept. It is wider by 1.3 inches and longer by 2.2 inches. The increase in length and width allows the new Maxim project itself as an upscale sedan with a wider stance and a lower profile.

Body lines have been streamlined and sculpted to provide a sporty look. The same effect is achieved by the bold front end, which has been heavily inspired by the Sport Sedan Concept.

Headlamps enjoy a boomerang style design and come fitted with LED DRLs. The headlamps flank the grille, which is massive in size and shaped like a V. The grille goes deep into the bumper, lending a very sporty and aggressive look to the vehicle.

Nissan’s Smart Rev Control

Nissan Coast

Have you heard about Nissan’s latest Smart Rev Control technology? This system is capable of controlling CVT as per the driving conditions and enhances fuel efficiency. Besides this, it improves driving comfort because you are able to keep the vehicle at smooth, consistent speeds.

How does the smart rev control technology work? Drivers would step gently on/off the car accelerator pedal responding to the up and down terrains. CVT has the capability of changing transmission in the absence of steps. It offers an advantage that allows the transmission to be in sync with the accelerator pedal’s action.

But when there is very little force on the accelerator pedal, it is possible for the fuel efficiency to improve without carrying out any gentle accelerator applications to the CVT. On the basis of the driver’s operation, the system is able access such situations. It can curb CVT transmission revolutions while enhancing fuel efficiency.

There is a computerized system that consistently monitors the accelerator pedal use by the driver. It can identify situations when fuel efficiency can be improved by not executing very gentle accelerator movements. Examples of such situations include slow climbing up on an inclined terrain, smooth acceleration or traveling on slightly up and down roads. Hence the system is able to avoid unnecessary gear transmission. Visit the Coast Nissan showroom to know more about the smart rev control feature in Nissan models.

Nissan’s Pedestrian Protection Effort

Nissan Coast

There is something very concrete that automaker Nissan has decided to do in order to reduce the number of serious and fatal injuries that occur due to traffic accidents which involve Nissan vehicles. The percentage of such accidents is expected to come down to nearly half by 2015 (in comparison to 1995). Pedestrian protection is being considered as a crucial factor in attaining that objective.

Nissan has been involved in the development of strategies that will help minimize head as well as leg injuries. Certain head impact tests were conducted under Japan’s New Car Assessment Program in 2004 and the head protection regulation came into being in September 2005.

Vehicle components which are likely to come into contact with the pedestrian are being designed in a way that helps them break away quickly for increased impact energy absorption. Besides this, Nissan is adopting several other approaches to help in the reduction of pedestrian injuries.

Nissan has also developed the unique pop-up engine hood as part of the pedestrian protection initiative. With the pop-up engine hood, when the vehicle hits a pedestrian, the pop-up control unit gets a signal from sensor located in the bumper. This unit after judging necessity would trigger a dynamic actuator which pops up the hood. The MOD or ‘Moving Object Detection’ technology in Nissan cars can easily detect any moving objects/people around the car. This is helpful in alerting the driver, especially when moving out of parking lots. Check out the latest Nissan cars at the Coast Nissan showroom!

Nissan’s New Ad Campaign

Nissan Coast

We are so excited about the latest ad campaign launched by automaker Nissan. It is aimed at repositioning Japan’s No.3 automotive company in the United States by promoting crossovers and exciting cars that prioritize safety.

Nissan is hopeful that the campaign “Take On” would be able to gauge the interest of audiences; thereby helping the company beat a mandate which has been set by Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan. The mandate aims earning 10 percent of the market share in the United States.

The ad campaign has an extensive scope. The first among the eight new advertisements started making a debut at the time of the NBA Finals. A set of another eight advertisements is expected to be launched in the month of July followed by another twenty spots that will be used in local markets.

The ads basically showcase Nissan’s crossovers and cars deftly dodging, weaving and bobbing through all kinds of obstacles. The aim is to demonstrate that the automaker is designing vehicles that combine safety technology with high performance.

According to Vice President, Jeremy Tucker, there was desperate need for such an ad campaign in the U.S. where Nissan faces a serious marketing problem-the absence of a clear brand identity. The idea for the ad campaign which finally emerged was the development of commercials that demonstrate that Nissan trucks and cars could enable consumers to deal with daily obstacles and difficulties such as bad weather, potholes or even running late when dropping off children at their school.
