Nissan’s Intelligent Seatbelts

Intelligent Seatbelts

Nissan’s Intelligent Seatbelts add more to the already existing safety features of its cars. It can enhance the functionality of seat belts.

The new intelligent seat belt comes integrated with a winding device (a motorized retractor), which assists in improving the safety feeling. It also feels more comfortable when worn and adds more to the sense of hospitality.

When the driver opens the car door, this winding device gets activated automatically and feeds the belt. The new feature loosens the belt and simultaneously the belt guide on the side of the door is inclined ahead by a spring so that passengers can easily grab it when putting the belt on. At times of abrupt skidding or steering, the belt gets wound up in order to hold the occupant safety, thus enhancing safety.

The motor functions by extending the tongue to the front passenger and the driver. When the belt is worn, it consumes additional belt webbing and assists in controlling the fit. On unfastening, the belt gets pulled into storage automatically. The tight function of the system assists in offering the front passenger and the driver safe feeling during abrupt maneuvers and skids.

Nissan integrates its Intelligent Seatbelts on coupes with B pillar set moderately to the rear. The automaker has previously commercialized a winding device for the pre-crush belts, which wind up the safety belt while braking suddenly to safeguard the passenger. The company also has plans to add new software to the winding device.

The Nissan company has its own set of rules when it comes to safety. The Nissan Safety Shield Philosophy represents an exhaustive approach towards safety. This guides the engineering of every vehicle and its subsequent iterations (models). The company describes these features as looking out for their customers.

Six air bags

The Nissan Air Bag System has single stage driver along with supplemental air bags and venting technology for the front passengers. There are also the sensors for seat belt classification. The Titan XD also has front seat mounted and side impact supplementary air bags. The vehicle also has curtain side impact supplementary air bags mounted on the roof. The air bags also have a rollover sensor.

TPMS and Easy fill alert

The Tire Pressure Monitoring System or TPMS informs the driver when air pressure in tires is low. When the driver stops the vehicle to take in air, the Easy Fill Tire Alert eliminates the guesswork when it comes to filling the tires. You will hear a beep when the correct pressure is reached.

Safe kids

Nissan has dedicated countless hours to examine the child restraints in the car. It has thus developed The Snug Kids Child Safety Seat Fit Guide. The guide lists the child seats which fit rear seats of the Nissan Titan XD. It also provides tips on their correct installation. Want to know more about the safety features of Nissan Titan XD? Safety Features of the 2016 Nissan Murano

2016-nissan-murano-around-view-monitor-large

The 2016 Nissan Murano is a magnificent vehicle that offers reliable performance and state of the art features; but the brilliance doesn’t just end there. The new Murano also comes loaded with a fantastic set of safety features.

To start off with the basics, the Murano boasts of Nissan’s Advanced Air Bag System, which means, there are dual-stage supplemental airbags at the front. These airbags come with occupant-classification and seat-belt sensors. The airbags inflate at a rate that is determined by the intensity or severity of the crash and whether the seat belts are in use or not.

If that isn’t enough, the Murano also offers supplemental knee airbags on the driver’s side for front and side impacts. Then, there are the supplemental airbags on the roof with rollover sensors that offer overhead protection to the occupants.

Also, another set of side-impact airbags run along the roof to offer protection to all three rows of seated occupants.

Added to the Murano’s bouquet of safety features is the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with Traction Control System (TCS). The VDC, also referred to as Stability Control, controls over-steer or under-steer by monitoring the driver’s braking and steering maneuvers.

The TCS, on the other hand, senses wheel spin or slip and addresses the issue by cutting down on the throttle and boosting traction. This ensures that you never move away from the desired path of motion.

These are just a handful of safety features found in the 2016 Nissan Murano. To get a complete idea of how safe this vehicle is, come on down to Coast Nissan and take a look for yourself.
